The short version: We collect the email you give us, the answers you choose to share when you ask us for a plan, and the pack details you submit. We use them to help you, and for nothing else. We don't sell your data, we don't run advertising trackers, we don't spam you, and we never reveal who submitted a pack. You can ask us to delete everything, any time.
Who we are
PinkSlipped is post-layoff navigation, built by people who've lived it. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do — and don't do — with it. If anything here is unclear, write to us at hello@gotpinkslipped.com.
What we collect
We keep this short on purpose.
Email you give us. When you join PinkSlipped or sign up for the inbox, we store your email address and which form you used. That's it — no name required.
Your intake answers. If you ask us to build you a plan, we ask about your situation — things like your employment status, timeline, and what you're most worried about. Some of what you share can be sensitive, and we treat it that way: it's stored separately with restricted access, used only to shape your plan and connect you with the right help, and never used for marketing.
Pack Finder submissions. If you add an alumni community to the directory, we collect what you enter: the company, the pack name, the platform, the join link or instructions, and the note on how you know about it. The "how you know" field is for our verification only — it is never published.
Basic technical data. Like most sites, our hosting keeps standard logs (things like IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to keep the site running and secure. We aim to keep analytics minimal.
How we use it
To reach you only when there's something worth your time — a new field note, or word that the full PinkSlipped is ready. No drip, no noise.
To verify and index the packs you tell us about, so other people who just got the same call can find them.
To keep the site working, safe, and a little better each week.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data, and we don't rent or trade it.
We don't spam you. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe.
We don't reveal who submitted a pack. Verification is quiet by design.
We don't run public forums or comment threads. Discretion is a feature here, not an afterthought.
Who else can see it
We share data only with the service providers who help us run PinkSlipped, and only as much as they need:
Hosting and database. Our site and database run on Supabase, which stores the data described above on our behalf in the United States.
Email, if and when we send it. If we send announcements, we'll use a reputable email provider to deliver them.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of people who use PinkSlipped.
Cookies and tracking
We keep this light — light enough that we don't need a separate cookie policy. We use only strictly necessary cookies: the ones that keep you signed in and keep the site secure. We don't run advertising or targeting cookies, we don't use your data to follow you around the internet, and we don't sell it to advertisers.
If we ever add analytics, it will be minimal, aggregate, and reflected here first. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; the site will still work, though you'll be signed out.
How long we keep it
We keep your email for as long as you want to hear from us. Pack listings stay up while they're accurate. You can ask us to remove either at any time.
Your privacy choices
Unsubscribe any time, in one click, from any email we send.
Ask us what we have, correct it, or have it deleted — just email hello@gotpinkslipped.com and we'll take care of it, usually within a few days.
We don't sell or share your personal information for advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of on that front. Depending on where you live (including California and other U.S. states), you may have additional legal rights over your data — access, correction, deletion, and portability. Email us and we'll honor reasonable requests regardless of where you are, without treating you differently for asking.
Children
PinkSlipped is built for adults navigating job loss. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the little data we hold. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect small on purpose — that's the best protection there is.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and move the effective date at the top. Material changes will be made clear.
